School is not quite over yet, but it sure feels like summer is here. Dinners outside, sitting around the fire well into the night, lightning bugs, and the heady scent of honeysuckle at the end of our driveway. We are lucky enough to have woods and creeks to explore all summer long and my kids are definitely the outdoor, exploring type.

It’s no great mystery who’s been at the pond or in the woods, but the pictures are nice and at the end you can read more about the animals and their habits.
It is warm and muggy on this summer afternoon.
"Cammy," says William, "mom says if we pick enough blueberries, we can make a pie for dinner."
"Let's go!" says Cammy.
"William, look at this footprint," says Cammy.
Who's been here?
A baby raccoon.
I like that our second hand copy of "In the Woods" is inscribed, "To Molly- Thanks for loving and caring for animals."
